Music & Murals
One of my greatest motivations for starting a tour company in Washington DC was the opportunity to create experiences that allow everyday travelers to explore a bit deeper into local history…
With so many iconic national memorials, federal buildings, and free museums you could easily visit the District of Columbia and never see the plethora of offerings that exist just beyond the National Mall. In this video, artist Aniekan Udofia (best known for his iconic Ben’s Chili Bowl mural) describes the vibes tourists often miss; the vibes that inspire his art.
Our Nation’s capital city is so much more than a political epicenter, it is a city of neighborhoods, rich in local culture and history. One of my favorite neighborhoods to share is U street. Long known as "Black Broadway", the U Street corridor is awash in sound & color. The stunning murals which decorate this busy DC thoroughfare tell the story of the city's musical history. From jazz to Go-Go, rock &roll to r & b, soul to gospel; it all happened right here! Our neighborhood tour explores this hip happy hour destination through a historical lens. “Music & Murals” is perfect for first time visitors and locals alike!
